Stacks Temperature

Good morning! We've had some comments in the last day or so about the temperature in the Athenaeum, especially the stacks:

"2nd floor is warmer than rest of building, too warm. Feel like (unknown). Please regulate temperature better."

Here's the deal:

We investigated and discovered that our automatic shades have not been coming down to block out the sun as they should have been. The program that automatically operates the shades has been reset and the temperature in the stacks should begin to decrease. Please remember with the warm days and cool nights, the fall season is a difficult time of year to maintain steady temperatures. In our efforts to be a green campus and preserve natural resources, different areas in our building may feel warmer or cooler than anticipated during these first few weeks of October.
